Rock Oyster is a limited edition 18-year-old version of the original. It is one of the most intriguing drams such as Timourosu Beastie and Scallywag, which are just a few quirky brand names. Rock Oyster 18-years-old is seaside themed malt made up of exclusive whiskies distilled from Arran, Jura, Orkney and Islay.
Nose: rather different. This starts on stewed fruits (peaches, lemons, oranges) and tobacco notes. A sweeter style of peat, which combines nicely with the acidity of the fruits and the (softer) brine. Light vanilla and hints of spicy oak. Nicely balanced.
Palate: Rounded, with more creamy vanilla alongside the mineral notes and citrus zest. Well-integrated peat, hints of seaweed and ashes. Green apples. A little mint.
Finish: long, a bit more dryness of the oak now, as well as fruity notes and dark chocolate.

Formerly known as ”vatted malt”, comprised of single malts from the several Scottish islands. Available in June 2017, no colour added and not -chill-filtered. Douglas Laing has created quite the impressive range of blended malt whiskies with all present good value for money.
