Once blended, this elder expression from Dewar’s is decanted into oak casks for further maturation before finishing yet elsewhere. The result of all this to-and-fro? A sophisticated and elegant whisky which truly thrives on the tongue: fresh fundaments of rich apple and apricot are lifted by thick floral notes and honey battles smoke for dominance in a slow, heady finish.

DEWAR’S remains dedicated to age statements as a sign of craftsmanship and quality. The release of DEWAR’S 25 is part of this testimony and ongoing commitment for age statements across the premium range. Over 40 of the finest grain and single malt whiskies aged at least 25 years and older are blended together and then filled into the specially selected oak casks to begin the six-month-long double-ageing process. In an extra step unique to the new 25-Year-Old expression, the whisky was then filled into a set of freshly disgorged Royal Brackla casks for an extra period of finishing.
Founded by John Dewar in 1846, Dewar’s first Master Blender pioneered a process to bring extra smoothness and consistency to Dewar’s whisky. Single malt and grain whiskies are blended together, placed back into oak casks and get to know each other. This process is Dewar’s double ageing.
