Chris Leggat, commercial director said: “The latest addition to our Timorous Beastie family, our 10 Years Old special edition launches at an opportune time for Burns Night celebrations.
Timorous is described as “immediately sugary sweet, bursting with warm syrup over the sponge and ripe, juicy nectarines” on the nose, while the palate offers “creamy honey, warm buttered toast, gentle spice and a distinct cereal character”.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Opens up on sweet vanilla and ripe, mushy bananas. Some soft spices too, accompanied by maple syrup and fudge. This is definitely on the sweeter side of the spectrum.
Taste: More of the sweet, fruity bananas and vanilla, but now the spices are a bit more present. Some ginger, as well as white pepper and cloves. Fairly creamy by the way, which is always a plus.
Finish: Some bitter oak, light spices, and finally sweet fruits.

Timorous Beastie 10 Years Old is a limited edition from Doung Laing’s range. Firstly, it was aged separately for a minimum decade and made with whiskies from various distilleries in the Highland region. Furthermore, it is presented in a metal-grey-foil aluminium tube in reference to the traditional 10 th anniversary of metal aluminium. Moreover, the name ‘Timorous Beastie’ itself is a nod to Rober Burn, Scottish poet. Launched in the honour of the iconic beastie in 2014 and neither chill filtration nor colouring.
